1. What information we gather
Darknet Links is an independent research and awareness initiative. We exist to inform analysts, journalists and security teams about anonymous online ecosystems — not to profile individuals. The data we collect is limited to what is required to keep the site running.
- Server access logs: standard server-side logs containing the IP, timestamp, URL, user agent and referrer. Retained for a short rolling window solely for abuse mitigation and capacity analysis.
- Aggregated statistics: anonymous numerical counts of pages and searches, used only to understand what topics interest readers. No personal identifiers are stored.
- Form submissions: any data you voluntarily type into the contact form or comment form (name, email, message). We receive nothing unless you actively submit the form.
2. What we do not collect
- We do not pass visitor data to advertising networks, brokers or resellers.
- We do not run third-party tracking pixels or browser fingerprinting.
- No account, login or wallet is needed to read any part of the catalog.
- We do not record the .onion sites you visit outside this domain — that information stays between you and Tor.
3. Use of cookies
The site uses only the cookies strictly required for it to function — for example, a session cookie when you submit a form, or a preference cookie if you toggle a UI option. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time without losing access to the site.
4. Services from external providers
We depend on a small number of external providers for technical reasons:
- Hosting and CDN: hosting and CDN services receive traffic to render pages. They process roughly the same data as our access logs.
- Web fonts: fonts are pulled from Google Fonts. Your browser may expose your IP to Google during font loading. You can block third-party fonts in your browser if that concerns you — the site stays usable with system fonts.
- Search engines: the site is indexed by mainstream search engines, helping researchers locate the catalog. What those engines record about your searches is outside our control.
5. Children
Darknet Links is intended for adult professionals and academics. The content is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you are below the age of majority where you live, do not use this site.
6. Rights you retain
Your local law may give you the right to access, correct or delete data we hold about you and to object to certain processing. We collect very little personal data on purpose, so there is usually nothing identifiable for us to act on. If you have submitted a form and want your data removed, please use the link below.
7. Safeguards
We apply sensible technical and organisational safeguards: HTTPS across all traffic, hardened server configuration and continuous monitoring. No web service can guarantee absolute security, so please apply your own caution when communicating with us, especially over the public internet.
8. Policy amendments
This policy may change from time to time to reflect new technology, regulation or our own practices. Substantive updates will be marked here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
9. Contact
Questions about privacy or data handling can be sent through our contact form with a relevant subject. We respond in a reasonable timeframe and never repurpose submissions for marketing.
